Intent

A short guide at the front tells the person what they have been sent and where to look. It costs the organisation a paragraph and saves the person the work of mapping the response.

How to test it

An assessor scores the criterion against a single response:

Score 2
The response includes a short guide to what it contains and how it is arranged.
Score 1
The response lists its contents without saying how they are arranged or where to start.
Score 0
The response includes no guide to itself.

The law it reflects

This criterion reflects Article 12(1) of the UK GDPR. That mapping is a guide, not a legal test: conformance is judged against the criterion, not the article.

See F5 in context in the full standard.
