About us
The Centre for Digital Consumers is an independent, self-funded UK non-profit. We research how digital products and services treat people, and we help you act when they get it wrong.
Our mission
Digital products and services shape how people bank, shop, travel, and stay in touch. The people using them rarely hold the advantage. We work to change that in two ways:
- We help people understand their rights as customers of digital products and services, including their rights under consumer protection, data protection, and equality law.
- We research and raise awareness of practices that mislead or exploit people, and we build free tools and publish plain-English advice that help people act on their rights.
Everything we publish is free to read, and everything we build is free to use.
Who we are
We are a small, independent UK non-profit. We are not a registered charity: we may register in future, and until then we operate as an unregistered non-profit.
We are independent of the companies we write about. Nothing we publish is reviewed or approved by them, and we run no third-party trackers on this site.
How we are funded
The work is self-funded. We accept no money from the companies we cover, no advertising, and no sponsored content.
