Where the organisation extends the time limit, it tells the person within one month of the request.

Intent

An extension is only fair if the person hears about it while they are still expecting an answer. Told after the month, they have spent it waiting on a deadline that had already moved.

How to test it

An assessor scores the criterion against a single response:

Score 2: The organisation told the person about the extension within one month of the request.
Score 1: The organisation told the person about the extension, but after the first month had passed.
Score 0: The organisation extended the time limit without telling the person.
Not applicable: The organisation did not extend the time limit.
